The written history of sir lake dates back to about 3000 years and the history of the prehistoric human settlements with evidence dates  back to at least 125,000 years. however , sir lanka's recent history  has been shattered by the sri lankan military's decisive end to the thirty years civil war in 2009 with the defeat of the liberation tigers of tamil Eelam [LTTE].

sri lanka is a unitary republics governed by a semi-presidential  system. its administrative capital is sri jayawardenapra kotte and its commercial capital is colombo. sri lanka has along history of foreign relations. sri lanka is a country with minimal natural disasters. but disasters caused by rain are common. the flora of sri lanka is highly valued for its diversity and uniqueness. 20,359,439 according to the 2012 census.Sri Lanka is divided into nine provinces and political power is decentralized.There is a mixed economic system with socialist and capitalist features. Basically an agricultural country. According to the Central Bank, Sri Lanka recorded an economic growth of 4.8 percent in 2015.
