Sigiriya

 

Sigiriya, Alakamandawa, Sinhapura, Giri Fort, Sinha Fort, Sinhagiriya, Sinha Balapaura, Sinha Parvathayanu Kimbissa village in the Dambulla Divisional Secretariat Division in the Matale District of the Central Province of Sri Lanka. This is a natural remnant mountain. Later, our ancestors designed the fort using their natural defenses to create a magnificent checkpoints.

Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka. Referred by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World this ancient palace and fortress complex has significant archaeological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is probably the most visited tourist destination of Sri Lanka.

Unfortunately, we Sri Lankans do not even go to see where it is.


Sigiriya Fort

Sigiriya is mentioned in folklore as a fort built by King Kasyapa. Sigiriya Fortress has a long history and has been published by various people.
